Hi Flame, thank you for that, I do have those details, so will try it. I thought I had tried it already, but have to admit I was more than a little frustrated by this time and have quite possibly overlooked trying that! Seems obvious now you say it. Thanks again.

Do you have the login details (email/password) for you son’s PSN account? Go into his User on your PS3, and if you see “Sign up for Playstation Network” go into that. On the first page (maybe second page) you should see “Use existing details” (or similar) — choose that and you should be able to enter his PSN details.

Hi. I’m tearing my hair out with this – everything seems so intuitive these days – except for Sony’s PS3!! Maybe I’m having a bad day, but I’ve been working on this for hours. I have the sub account set up on line and I set up a new user on the PS3 itself before I started – that’s how I got the who process started. Now I go back onto the PS3 hoping to sign in my son and there is no way of signing in, without creating a new user – doing this just sets the whole proces off again. It must be soimething I’m missing. What am I doing wrong?

yeah same thing happened to me. not going to give it away. not after what happened last year. i just don’t trust them anymore

Ok, so I’m trying to create a sub-account for my nephew. Wait, let me rephrase that. I did manage to create one for him. I know this because when I access my master account on the play station website, it shows that he is registered as a sub-account under my account. But when I get on the PS3 itself and try to login with his preferred Sign-in ID and password, it shows that there is an error and couldn’t login into his brand new sub-account. Sony has irritated me in the past but this is total nonsense. I’ve tried the instructions under this page for the past couple days but when I hit the final step which is login to the new account under the PS3, it says it can’t login. I need help.

No you’re stuck with it. You will have to make a new account (Master account) when you’re old enough.

Why does it request a Credit Card when setting up a SubAccount??? I don’t want to input that information.
