PS3 Explained

Did you know your PS3 controller has motion detection? It’s called “SIXAXIS”. Various PS3 games support Sixaxis but here’s a way to experience it for free with a fun little game called Super Rub’a'Dub.

Before you begin

You will need:

• Your PS3 connected to the internet
• A Playstation Network account to access the Playstation Store (learn how to sign up for one)

Steps to download and install

1. Go to the Playstation Store (found under Network menu)
2. From the Store homepage select the Games tab
3. Select the Full Games item
4. Go through the pages of items until you find Super Rub’a'Dub, and select it
5. This will show you all the Super Rub’a'Dub items. Select the free Super Rub’a'Dub Starter Pack (Starter Packs are essentially demos of the full purchasable games)
6. You will be presented with more information about the starter pack. Select the Download button (filesize is 189MB)
7. The starter pack should now start downloading, with the progress shown on screen. Select Perform in background if you want to use your PS3 (e.g. watch a vid or play a game)
8. If you chose to download in the background, you can monitor the progress in the Download Management tool in the Network menu
9. Here you can see all files downloading, queued or paused
10. Selecting a file will show you more details (filesize, completion percentage)
11. When the starter pack has finished downloading it will be found in the Game menu. It is not ready for play yet because the file needs to be installed
12. Select it to begin the installation
13. Go Back when the installation completes
14. Now Super Rub’a'Dub should be available from the Game menu (also: XMB theme version ). Select it to start playing

How to play

1. I recommend you learn the controls first so select Help instead of Play
2. Select How to play
3. Watch the demonstration to learn how to tilt and jolt the tub with your controller’s motion controls. Then go have fun playing the levels yourself!
