AdvancedOnline ID can not be used
The phrase “The online ID you entered cannot be used” is very common when you are trying to sign up for a Playstation Network account. It may be because the ID you want does not meet the rules or simply that it is already taken by someone else.
You will need to choose another ID. Suggestions:
- Try adding numbers e.g. billy888
- Try adding hyphens (-) or underscores (_) e.g. billy_the-kid
- Does your ID contain words? Some words/terms are not allowed e.g. “PS3″
Profile name
The online ID (profile name) that you choose when signing up for a Playstation Network account gets locked in. There is no facility to edit/change the ID. So pick one you are not going to regret 
Profile avatar
It’s possible to change your PSN avatar, but the images are restricted to those provided by Sony. It’s not currently possible to use your own image; we assume this is to prevent “improper” avatars.

Country not available when signing up
If your country is not available as an option when signing up to Playstation Network (see list of supported countries) then you are out of luck. However, if you are willing to go against the terms and conditions–which tell you not to provide incorrect details–then it is possible to sign up using details that are valid for another country (e.g. United States). Search online to find more information.

Sometimes you may get these errors:

It seems to only happen occasionally and most likely due to the PSN servers having some temporary glitches. Try again, but if the problem persists you may need to come back later.
hey can some1 pls help me everytime i sign in to psn it signs me back out saying you have been signed out to ps network sometimes it lets me on then wen in the midle of playing cod5 it does it again wat do i needto do my conection is fine wirelessly and cabled
Strangely you have to create another account. It’s a bitch and you will lose all your friends if you don’t remember their weird PSN names with the special characters, but it gets you back on.

80710102 seems this problem started after downloading demo’s and surfing the PSN network/web. For the most part it is the PSN server. Do to mega traffic. One solution that seems to work most of the time is to shut everything down [even eject the game/disk]turn of the console and when you see the red solid light flip the main switch [to off] “Yes its the only switch on the back of the play station. Wait 1 minute, flip the main switch back on when you see the red power light come on turn the ps back on. Sign on your avitar/account and scroll over to the blue ball that has three drop down sub menue’s Notice the first drop down title which will either say “Signing on ”” “or it will have the word “maintanance account ”” If you see the word “maintanance” then you are on to the network and it is time to start the game. If you still see the words “signing on” then you are in a state of limbo and shortly there after will see the (80710102)aka. DNS error. Im sorry I dont have the difinitive solution 4 you,us,we! at least this will save you some time that you could have spent doing something usefull like playing the game.
i turned my ps3 on this morning and tried signing in it said i have 2 sign up 2 ps network ive lost my prestige on cod4 n cod5 and have 2 m8k a new account why?? ive tried signing in my old add but it says my info is wrong WTF ???????

You have to make a sub account on your PS3. Just go to Users on your PS3 home menu, and Create New User. Then set up another PSN Network Account and you’re back in. Sad thing is, if you don’t have a hard copy of your friends list, you’ll lose all of them unless you have connections other than the PSN network. Yet for some reason I get an error saying the message can’t be sent when you send a friend invite. Other than that, I’m online playing MGO and dying like the way it should be. that same thing happens to me! except it lets me sign in but I can’t do anything online. it’s infuriating and it’s the same on my brothers account.
Uhh…. I recently formatted my harddrive as it was corrupt and then when I went to sign up for psn and then 2 use an already existing accout and I typed in my details it refuses 2 let me in it says The Sign-in ID[email adress] and password is not valid PLZ help
basicaly my problem is i play my games on a different ps3 all the time but now im staying somwhere else with a different ps3 and want too use the same account…..so the same email address and password and soo i have all the same friends and like ranks on games….but when i try tooo sign up with an existing account it says password or email address is wrong why is this and what do i have too do to resolve it??

my ps3 has been having problems. this mainly started when i downloaded the new cod waw mp2. everytime i am playing shi no numa it laggs then kicks me from the game saying server connection timed out . it still shows the people in the lobby but its like its frozen. then after about 10 seconds of me saying hello its signs me out. i check the modem and router every time but there running perfectly. it ticks me off because i am doing good in the lobby then pooft gone . note that my ps3 is running wirelessly about 15 feet from both the modem and router . ive connected a cable from my ps3 to the router and it still doesn’t work. any idea?

can you get a new ps3 and keep your same online id and network id? and if not can u delete and recreate same id’s
Ok for the people having problem with the errors check your connection and make sure everything is plugged in the right place that may help. If it dont ask again.
And Robert you may have a wire out of place or something.

Obviously it sounds like parental control settings. In your PS3 menu, go to Settings, then Security Settings, then second from the very bottom, Parental Control. Just adjust the level to your choosing and there you go. Oh and also about the PSN error where you can’t sign on whatsoever, turns out it is a account failure and the network fixes it over time.
im having the exact same probloem wuth the parental restrictions. i made an accoutn and nobody set up restrictiosn but when i try to play online on CoD5 it tells me ” cannot connect because of PSN parent restrictions”

BTW my account is the sub accound i got nfi if that amtters or not but my bro (who is younder then me) for some reason is able to get online. his account was first made so im guessing his is the administration account but all parental control shit is turned off
Here’s a theory. I’m not sure how old you guys really are, but the game is probably reading your PSN birthday/age. Also, check and see if the game itself doesn’t have parental control. If not, all I can say is play around with it.

Hi Jamie! I’ve just sorted my PS3 out and can now go online! The only solution to play the games is to start all over (new PSN accounts) and the say that ure a little older than what u are I put it as 1981 and it now works perfectly! Hope you soon get ures sorted out
iv gt 2 users 1 i wnt other i dnt but 1 i wnt hasnt gt all the save data. the other 1 has some gt copy protected. also 1 i wnt has all my levels for wen i go online wt do i do im really stuck. i dnt to delete any user cous the best user all the save data with the shit id the user i dnt wnt has my better id bit confusing but really stuck help wen i go to account settings to change email id it says already in use
ok so i dont know what happened. I was watching a movie on my ps3. no probs. then the next day i took the movie out. no prob. but then when i tried to play another movie on it theres was a big prob. i turn it on and all i get is a brown not blue screen saver and it wont do anything else. seriously nothing. and it wont even turn off. I need help! Everytime I sign into PSN, it stays connected for only a few minutes then gives me a message saying “Error you have been signed out of Playstation Network.” This happens constantly and i can never play online. What can i do to fix this? (I am connected via WI-FI)
There are three theories. One, your connection may be weak. To confirm this, check the wireless setting on your PS3. It should give you a percentage of how strong your wireless or wired connection is. Two, there may be some interference with your wireless. This is caused by microwaves, radio waves, cell phones, or any other type of micro interference. Three, it’s the PSN’s fault. I had the same problem to, except mines wouldn’t sign on at all. It will fix itself over time, so give it six hours or so. If you really have the need to go online and kick ass, making a sub-account on your PS3. This should get you pass the error you’re getting.
how would you be able to fix the parental control settings so i can play cod5 it says do to parental control restrictions but every time i adjust the level it still says cant go online do to parental control restrictions and im really pissed off
I am able to get online but when i send a friend request to one of my listed friends on my screen i can choose my team but my opponets team stays the same eventhough they have chose their team and vise versa. then it kicks me out. I can play random games but if i send a friend a request it wont connect. Any one else having this problem. Does anyone know how to fix it. My signal strength is excellent
ok soo i have had 2 accounts and both for somereason have said “you can not sign into the PSN under this account” and i do not want to make another because i lose all of my save data and i do not want to try to get all of that back. any tips??

It sounds like you have your parental on the highest setting, making M rated games useless on your system. Have you tried turning it off or setting it to the lowest setting?
Why can,t you get to psn so that you can protest against paying for the up coming game play? The players are supposed to raise 500,000 votes but it seems to be closed down on every side? I petition not to pay for on – line play
You know that email is fake right? The date was 1-19-09, it’s 10-19-09. That and a million of other crap that’s being spammed across the PSN Network. If they’re going to make us pay, it’s only because we want a smooth play for on line. How are they going to do this? By getting money to pay for better servers and to keep them up.
My PS3 will take a long to time to sign in and when it finally does it takes forever to find a game on Call of Duty. And when I’m in the game it lags like hell even though my connection is good.
It’s probably because your connection speed is set to a low setting like 96kbps. Trying checking the PS3’s and the game’s network configuration.

Im a bit pee’d of tbh. every time i sign in it sign me straight back out, and then it wont let even connect to my internet at all!! i can surf the web on my laptop, my main computer, go online with my wii! but my ps3 just will not work!! i dont know whether this means anything but my mum moved the router about 1meter from where it used to be (it worked fine where it was…). and btw im using a black bt home hub. PLZ HELP ME!!!!!
It sounds like a PSN network error. It should resolve over time.
Someone has used my hotmail account to sign up to PSN so now I can’t use it to sign up, I’ve had the hotmail account for over 10 years, but I can’t get hold of anyone at PSN to disconnect the other person from my email address. I don’t know how they did this because I had the hotmail account before PSN existed and there’s no way they’ve been able to go into my account to verify that it’s theirs. The PSN help is absolutely useless.
What you should do immediately is delete that hotmail account. Because sooner or later the person who hacked your email information could also gather your personal information. Make a quick virus check for malware and/or spyware. These types of bots can easily trace your key strokes and send them back to the person who hacked your computer. For extra precaution, try not to save any passwords on your internet browser.
I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion, Yoshi. You can sign up to PSN using anyone’s email address – it’s not like you have to confirm sign-up via a confirmation email.
Dylan, I really don’t know what sort of options you have here. I’d certainly suggest phoning Playstation Support in your country. UK? We don’t have European details on our contact page, but it should be easy to find a phone number on the UK website? Here in Australia they’re even in the phonebook.

Really appreciate your replies Yoshi and Flame, I agree with Flame that nobody is using my email address, I’m confident of that. My main worry is the overall security of PSN, if I have credit on my account is someone going to be using it, or if my account becomes unusable because someone else is pretending to use my email address then will I lose any extra levels I’ve bought for games or Guitar Hero / Singstar songs etc…
BTW if that were to happen I would use the full arm of the law to prosecute PSN and publicise their lack of concern for security.
