Change your PSN avatar

When we created bob556677′s account he ended up with a pink avatar . The poor bloke wants a new one! Learn how to choose a new avatar for your Playstation Network account.

Before you begin

This guide assumes you have a PSN (Playstation Network) account already. If not, read our guide on signing up to PSN!

Steps to change your avatar

Sign in to your account (if not already), and choose Account Management from the “Playstation Network” menu
Select Account Management
Select Edit online profile
Select a new avatar from the many options
Create a profile. Select Continue
Online profile updated successfully. Select Continue
The new avatar icon is now showing in the XMB menu! (bob556677 is very happy with the MotorStorm logo.)

you can not do it on ps3 but you can on xbox

  yes you can change your name. You sign in to Playstation Network on the home screen and go to account management and look for online id but it will restart your account. You might have to put your account under a different e-mail adress. Good luck Fidel!!

but this has missed out a step, you go onto account management then go to account information and then the avatar will be there.

You can’t change your current name . Only on xbox you can get your name and keep everything under it . Including acheivements/(PS3-trophies)

  sorry mate you cant,when you have chosen ure ps3 online id you have to stick with it unless you create a new account

  You can change your on line name. Call Sony support and they will do it for you. When I did it they told me they would only do it once so make sure it’s what you want.

Is this some sort of old layout? Because when I go to my “Account Management” it looks NOTHING like that….Which is why I’m getting a headache. I want to change my avatar but it doesn’t show “Edit Online Profile” just plain “Avatar”

can you just spend 25p on an avatar without putting 5 squids in your wallet? It comes out of your bank account so i don’t see why it shouldn’t!
